General information about the nectarines
The Nectarine is a deciduous tree, which together with the Peach tree, is expanded to the 400,000 acres in Greece. In our country the Nectarines are widely cultivated in Macedonia and especially in the districts of Imathias and Pellas.
The fruits of the Peach tree are mainly used fresh and for canning, where the Nectarines only fresh. The difference between their fruits has to do with size, the fluff (peach) and reddish color (Nectarine).
